An $86M+ expansion and renovation of the Hermann Science Center will boost NKU’s teaching and research capacity to support growing enrollments and external research funding in critical STEM fields including biology and engineering technology.

About the Project

Located along Kenton Drive, the 85,400 square foot expansion will centralize the university’s science programs into one modern facility with upgraded technology and instrumentation, significantly boosting opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaborations and creating dedicated facilities for K-12 STEM outreach.  An additional 15,000 square feet of existing space will be renovated to include flexible classrooms, lab support, and upgrades to critical systems.

Close proximity to the planned “Norse Network Hub” will support expanded partnerships with the region’s life sciences and advanced manufacturing industries, creating new opportunities for internships and co-ops for students majoring in the sciences.
